Caregivers on Staten Island are being offered 2 classes where they can learn techniques to reduce stress and anxiety and bring some calm and quiet into their lives. ACT Adult Care Group and The Compassion Center have teamed up to offer 2 dates for the caregivers of Staten Island. The classes on both dates will be the same. Each 90 minute class will teach attendees breathing, meditation and mindfulness techniques that are easy to learn and very effective in calming and quieting the mind and body.

The Director of ACT, Ann Marie Selfridge, originally intended to offer this caregiver class as a follow up class to the class that was offered in January. Dan Globus, the Director and lead Meditation teacher of The Compassion Center, who taught Meditation and relaxation techniques at the previous event, suggested to Ann that she consider opening up the class to all caregivers on Staten Island.

“I liked the idea to give back to all the caregivers who live and work on Staten Island”, said Selfridge. “Caregivers give so much of themselves to take care of people, and unfortunately, they can carry so much stress from their job on their shoulders and in the hearts. It is my pleasure to partner with Dan Globus to help caregivers learn how to reduce some of the stress that they carry.”
