In this class, you will learn the oldest, most traditional, form of Meditation (non-religious) which has been updated to make it easy and fun to learn. We will utilize body relaxation, breathing techniques, and guided imagery to bring about a very calm, happy, relaxed state. We will talk about why we should meditate and what the advantages of Meditation are. As most of us are overwhelmed with stress and possibly anxiety, we may feel forced to take (or consider taking) prescription medication to deal with these. Many of us have also turned to alcohol and other substances to help us cope with the crippling effects of anxiety and stress. We don’t need to take prescription medications, drink alcohol or take other substances to deal with the crippling effects of stress and anxiety. We can learn and practice techniques that have been used by thousands of people over hundreds of years that are very effective at relaxing us and removing anxiety and reducing stress. This class is taught by Dan Globus, Director and lead Meditation teacher of The Compassion Center. Dan has successfully taught hundreds of people on Staten Island how to meditate.
(**) The cost of this class is $20. You can pay with cash or credit/debit card. If you are unable to pay this, please come. We will not turn away anyone due to financial difficulties and will gladly accept whatever donation you can offer.
