We are so blessed here at the Compassion Connection to be able to partner with the creator of the universe in the transformation of lives! One of the areas most of the men find themselves struggling in is that of rejection.
It is one of the most dominating fears of man. Contributing to this fear is self-centeredness. This was the first thing that the Lord said was not good, and it is a root of many human problems. The Lord created man to need Him, and us to need one another. This need was created in us to be fulfilled, but because of the fall and the distortion of man’s nature, this fear can become a very dysfunctional drive.
This fear of rejection can drive one to become the person they believe will be accepted or recognized, which will vary with each new group or situation. With each change they make for the circumstances they face, there is an erosion of the stability of their personality. Soon they are confused as to who they really are and therefore can be controlled almost completely by external circumstances. With this comes loneliness. This loneliness results in an even greater fear of rejection, which often causes even more rejection. It is an ever increasing and tightening spiral down that can only be broken by reconciliation with God, which will also begin reconciliation with other people.
Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of creation. He is the center of the Compassion Connection. He is the only foundation for human life! When He is firmly placed in these men’s lives, neither the world, nor all of the powers of evil, can disturb them. As they come to know God, not just about Him, changes in their personalities come from within, no longer from without. His perfect love casts out all fear. In Him they no longer are moved by fear, but faith!
I am so thankful for what God is doing in the lives of these men. Their future is bright! Thank you for your support. A big thank you from residents Russ, Jeff, and Brian! They will be graduating from the program on October 2nd. You are welcome to join us for the graduation service Sunday morning, Oct. 2nd at 10:15 a.m. at Shell Lake Full Gospel Church.
Thank you again for your bountiful giving, which is a mark of true grace! We will never be able to out-give God no matter how hard we try.
May God richly bless you!
