Commitment to Spiritual Growth (Regeneration)
True recovery is only possible when we are willing to turn our will and our
lives over to the care of God. The inital faith that brings us into a personal
relationalship with God must be cultivated by learning our new identity in Christ
and how we may base our worth on that alone. This is spiritual growth that demands
a willingness to remain focused on the Gospel rather than all other issues.
Physical Fitness Commitment
The decesion to be committed to a physical fitness program cannot be taken lightly.
Exercise must become one of those things that you do without question, like bathing
and brushing your teeth. Unless you are convinced of the benefits of fitness and the
risks of being unfit, you will not succeed. Fitness can be described as a condition
that helps us look, feel and do our best. It is the ability to endure, to bear up, to
withstand stress, to carry on in circumstances where an unfit person could not continue,
and is a major basis for good health and well being.

Commitment to Reconciliation
The Compassion Center is concerned with the resident's relationships with others. True recovery demands healthy relationships that can only develop when we learn to apply the Gospel to others as well as ourselves. This will play a big part in transitioning back
into the community from the the Compassion Center. All believers are called of God to
relate to others in a very powerful way. Jesus called it loving each other in the same way he loves us.
Academic Commitment
The Regeneration program of Compassion Center is specifically designed to provide each
resident with the word of God for spiritual growth. The classes and Bible studies offered
are based upon the Gospel message concerning all that God has made us to be in Christ.
A failure to recognize and accept this Gospel leaves us hopelessly lost in a dysfunctional
lifestyle due to a poor self-image. It is absolutely necessary for each resident to commit themselves to learning about their new identity in Christ. That Gospel is the "power of God unto savalation for all who believe." The following criteria must be met in order to demonstrate academic commitment to the program.
- Consistent attendance and participation in all classes, Bible studies and teaching sessions.
- Participation in discussion and process groups.
